I am an artist and art educator of over 30 years. I work predominately in acrylics. I have a love of figurative and spatial studies. I am passionate about the connection in life that is so dear to each of us and our growth as human beings. To capture an entity's gesture, spirit and energy fascinates me. My art is my meditation.
The work shared in the Gallery has evolved from an investigation of the dimensional qualities of space and time and how we as figures move in and out of these layered spaces in life. Some are concrete, one-dimensional, experiences of a moment or emotional event while others reveal the complexities of the layered windows and spatial planes of life, past and present, in our outer and inner worlds. The work under Portraits represents my experience with portraiture. The format of this is in a one single collage image of some of the portrait pieces that I have rendered upon request. I enjoy painting these precious loved individuals and delight to see each find their home on the walls of the families who treasure them.
And, finally, the work under Pets reflects my love of animals. These are some of my commission and recreational work for animal lovers. I invite you to click on one of the smaller grid images beyond the first larger cat portrait to view each singularily and in full uncropped view. I have lived with multiple cats and dogs all of my life. I have learned more from them about being loved, being loving, being present and having gratitude for the purely simple daily things in life. Each of my furs has guided my spirit throughout my life.
